KILLEEN, Tex. — Sgt. Kimberly D. Munley has been applauded as a hero

Sgt. Kimberly D. Munley, is credited with saving lives

across the nation for shooting down Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan during the bloody rampage at Fort Hood last week. The account of heroism, given by the authorities, attracted the attention of newspapers, the networks and television talk shows.

But the initial story of how she and the accused gunman went down in an exchange of gunfire now appears to be inaccurate.

Another officer, Senior Sgt. Mark Todd, 42, said in an interview Thursday that he fired

the shots that brought down the gunman after Sergeant Munley was seriously wounded. A witness confirmed Sergeant Todd’s account.

In the interview, Sergeant Todd said he and Sergeant Munley had pulled up to the scene in separate cars at the same time. He said they began running up a small hill toward the building that held the processing center where unarmed soldiers reported for check-ups and vaccinations before deployment. The gunman was already outside, Sergeant Todd recalled.

“That’s when the bystanders were pointing in his direction,” he said. “And when we popped up, he was standing there, and we shouted our commands — ‘Police, drop your weapons!’ — and he just opened fire on us.”

  1. maybe they’re both heroes. but it does seem like many “facts” that were asserted by the military information mechanism are turning out to be less than reliable.

I seriously hope that Senior Sgt. Mark Todd gets all the credit he deserves. 🙂

    Audiegrl,

Something isn’t right here. Why all the different stories? And they’ve been like that since the beginning. First, we hear the shooter is shot dead and then we hear not. Second, we hear Kimberly Munley brought down the shooter when she was in fact laying wounded on the ground. Not, Mark Todd did. What is up with the Media?

    Too many different stories!

  4. SG2, don’t forget the “2nd shooter” scenario. As the horrible events unfolded, the 1st accounts were of multiple gunmen, not one single shooter. And then it was a “jihad” type of attack, then it wasn’t, now…

And of course the media is pulling this creep’s background, which sounds to me that he made his feelings about the U.S. & the Middle East no secret to the military. Why on earth was he allowed to serve our country?!

Let me get this straight (no pun intended): If you’re gay you are not qualified to serve in the armed forces, but if you are a radical religious fanatic with an obvious agenda against the U.S. government, you’re free to serve?! WTFF?!

This media is a bunch of lazy bleep.bleep.bleeps.

I just have two words for you. Balloon Boy 😉

Its getting to the point where TMZ is doing a better job at breaking stories that CNN, MSNBC, and Clusterfox put all together. TMZ is the one’s who broke the story of Michael Jackson’s death.

The fat cats (millionaire journalists) in the MSM better hope that TMZ never starts covering politics. Cause then they will be out of a job.
